Hybrid Wilderness First Responder Description
The Hybrid Wilderness First Responder certification is a combination online and onsite course that requires approximately 20-30 hours of pre-course instruction in an online learning environment and five days of coursework at our training facility.
Wilderness First Responder certification is considered the standard medical certification for guides, trip leaders, outdoor educators, and anyone working or playing in remote areas. RMI’s Wilderness First Responder emphasizes decision-making, hands-on skills, and the theoretical knowledge necessary to function in remote areas. This training also provides a strong foundation for students to progress on to more advanced levels of training.
Our curriculum is developed based on the collective experience of our remote-area paramedics and defined best practices. CPR for the Healthcare Provider is included in the course. Please note that food and lodging are not provided for WFR courses.
